Hello, my name is Kent Billingsley, and I’m on a mission to help Americans and campers everywhere make their outdoor experience more exciting. Several years ago, I started researching how people camp in other countries. I was shocked. Campers, especially in the UK and northern Europe, are using tents, gear, and equipment that is about 10-15 years ahead of what Americans and others are buying and using. 

The tent design, type, quality, and superiority of gear being sold and used in other countries like those mentioned are jaw-dropping! (See our website )

For example, in Europe, over 50% of the tents sold are no longer tents with metal poles. Instead,  inflatable tents, also called “air tents,” are what comprises most new sales. Inflatable tents are superior to metal-poles tents in more than a dozen ways, and that’s where camping – especially glamping – is going. 

Yet, in America, there is not one manufacturer or retailer who sells air tents that you can stand up in, have clear windows, and space to entertain guests. Why is that? It’s because American campers aren’t demanding the best. That’s the reason I started this InTents Glamping site and sharing of information. 

Another major difference between American and European campers…

Sadly, Americans only use their tents for sleep or shelter on an average of about 1-½ days of camping. Boring! 

Europeans camp for several weeks using their tents for sleeping, shelter, entertaining, parties, cooking, living, group games, storage, closets, bathrooms, and wine tasting, etc. Exciting! 

Americans camp, Europeans glamp. Why should they have all the fun?

I understand if you’re into technical/primitive, backpack camping or even kayak-type camping. I do that too. I’ve backpacked for up to two weeks and slept in the snowy mountains. However, my family and friends aren’t into “roughing it.” They are much more interested in glamping, like the Europeans, and would welcome more quality family time that’s affordable and comfortable.
